Under the Weather
February 12th, 2008 So the other night the nice lads in Attack in Black cooked everyone a delicious vegetarian chilli. Yum. I helped them prepare some of the veggies and for some reason it made me feel a bit at home. I cook a lot at home and I actually start to miss it on the road. On the other hand, it seems like Canada has got the best of me and I’m feeling pretty sucky at the moment. I opted out of a radio show appearance and left Dustin to it by himself, and am currently sitting in a hotel room trying to rest and recoup a bit before the show tonight (Winnipeg). Canada in the winter is probably not the best idea for a bunch of guys used to sunny weather virtually all year. Yeah. Teppei |

Jason
I hope you get better Teppei. I can’t wait until Earth & Air come out, I’m so excited! I am constantly inspired by your Music.

Hugo
I’m really happy you guys get along so well with other bands.
wonder if the brecken bros are doing any sort of appearances as well.
may the suckiness quickly melt away =P
(april can’t come quick enough)
Tricia
Oh, we’ve had so much of that nasty stuff going around here, I can’t imagine how bad it is up in Canada. Get better soon =)
Chris
“This is no place for a California boy to be.”
Teppei, I too, am a California boy and it is probably about 75 where I live. Just think warm thoughts and you will get through it. It’s what I do when it’s really cold here for like 3 days.
Matt
Tepps… sad day. being sick is no fun.
get better! :)
Trask
Hope you feel better. Good luck at the show.
Vegetarian chili is delicious, especially since I just went vegetarian recently and I have been discovering the delights of non-meat food!
Chris Schneider
Well i appreciate that you came up to Canada period, but maybe for the sake of the band’s health, come during late spring, summer or fall, and not the coldest part of our winter!!!
Tom
Hope to see you guys in Michigan.
Can’t wait to hear the new stuff live.
Randy

Logan
By the way, am I the only one who didn’t know about this alternate mix of the artist in the ambulance? it sounds pretty good, maybe better than the old one, although maybe my ears are just used to the old one. heck, the lyrics are even different.
if anyone doesn’t know what I’m talking about, check this link out:
http://intunemusic.wordpress.com/2007/07/24/thrice-the-artist-in-the-ambulance-alternative-mix/
Polish Chef
Thanks. 5th time & the best show so far.
I wish you guys absolutely the best. Feel better Teppei.
Matt
Logan-
i think i like this one better too.
there’s more detail to be heard, with the guitars and such.
thanks for that link!!
Jason
Your not the only one Logan. Thanks for the link.
Wilks
I was in Saskatoon for your show on Monday.Amazing. At the start of Open Water I started clapping at 4/4 time. Everyone joined in. Then I stopped to hear the continuous clapping that had been started a minute in. I clapped one more time and and it ended. It was crazy. Hope to see you in Canada again. You guys are one of the most tech bands I have seen. Enjoy the rest of Canada
Moony
Teppei i hope you feel better. logan… that link isnt working and i really wanna hear it now =/
luis
;0)
Alvaro
May be you could feel better in Spain!!
Come back to Europe!! We are waiting for you guys!
Jorge
Moony: Which link are you talking about? The link to the site or the download link? The link to the site worked for me, but the download link didn’t work at first, for some reason it did work the second time I clicked on it though. I’m not sure if I can post the dl link though, but I’d say just give it a few tries and hope it works. Thanks for the link Logan.
Ben
Feel better, Teps. I already ordered my tickets for the San Francisco show on May 25. It’s going to be a long three months.
By the way, if you guys played To Awake and Avenge the Dead during the encore at some point, I could die completely content.
Matt
The show in Winnipeg was soo good. I couldn’t have conjured a better setlist myself, a perfect balance of old and new, and a taste of what’s to come. 3rd time ive seen Thrice and probably the best. Can’t beat front and centre. Please come back, don’t let the cold keep you away. Fricken unreal show. Thanks guys.
Sam
Hey man, sorry to hear your not feeling great. I’ll be praying for some redeeming and strength ;)
Chris H.
Teppei, I’m sorry our Winnipeg weather has made you feel sucky. But thank you for coming to Winnipeg! I can say that was the greatest show that
I have ever been too.
And also, Dustin and Ed thanks for the high-fives! Good luck on the
rest of the tour and I hope to be seeing you again in Winnipeg again
for another show!
Chris
Logan:
I like it, it’s more layered. But it’s so subtle a casual Thrice listener wouldn’t tell the difference.
Thomas Epp
You guys played a great show last night in Winnipeg. My bro and I were huge fans. Your show-closer was killer. Good luck with the rest of the tour and with your guys’ health..
peace,
T
Jason
Is it April 15th yet?
Agustín
come to mexico, its pretty warm here
Logan
cool, glad to see I wasn’t the only one in the dark about that. I think I like the mix of the drums better as well, they feel a little more “alive.” I do like the album version’s chorus lyrics better though.
Kaila
It is cold hey? At least you weren’t here when it was -48C, cuz that was COLD.
Maybe that’s a message that you guys should come back to Edmonton this summer? If that’s what you’re hearing, I completely agree.
BTW; meet and greet next time??
Sean
You guys played your heart out, the show in Vancouver was amazing. It was well worth the 1000 mile drive my brother and I took from California to come and see you guys. (You weren’t touring in America so we had no choice but to go to Canada :P ) Anyways hope you feel better, and to all you Canadians, you better not miss them this time around because the set is unbelievable.
Ally
You still played an awesome show…even tho you were sick!! It amazing to watch you guy perform! Such an awesome show! We’d love to have you back soon!
Trask
Wow. I’m really enjoying that alternate mix of Artist in the Ambulance. Thanks for the link.
Moony
yea i was talking bout the second link and it worked after a couple tries, thanks alot jorge and logan for that link. also i swear to god i had a dream thrice came over for a massive sleepover/jamsesh… i didnt wanna wake up
Joe
is it just me or the link stopped working..?

Chris H.
I agree with Kaila!
Meet and greet would be awesome!
Jimmy B
Wicked pissah…
Thrice will release “Come All You Weary” to iTunes on March 4th. The single will be available for stream on Thrice’s myspace on February 28th. The band’s new album hits stores on April 15th.
Track Listing
01) Come All You Weary
02) The Whaler (Acoustic)
03) Digital Sea (Remix)
04) Digital Sea (Video)
“As far as the remix goes, we’ve all been fans of Dillinger Escape Plan for years, and I’ve kept in touch with Ben Weinman since we did a show with them in London in 2004. Once I found out he was working on remixes, I really wanted to see what he could do with some of our stuff, so when the band discussed the idea of doing a remix, he was the first person I hit up. Luckily, he agreed to give it a shot, and I’m glad he did. I’m really happy with how it came out, and honored to have had a musician I have great respect for, create his take on one of our songs” says Riley Breckenridge drummer for Thrice.
Jeff Triesch
Im so proud of you guys, keep pressing through it. What is the best way to buy your stuff, that benefits you the most? ‘Seek first the kingdom of God and all his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you!’ God bless!
Moony
jimmy man where did u read that
Chris
Hell yes!
Devan
You know where its not cold? Hawaii =)You guys should play over here where it is warm all year long. On another note, I hope you feel better Tep.
Matty
Man I hope they upload some pics from Thunder Bay(I was in front). Great show, absolutely awesome!
I think the tracklist was the same as the Edmonton show, but it doesn’t matter, its Thrice.
Jason
Yeah, where did you read that Jimmy? Hopefully its legit.
JasonP
Teppei, consider getting sick in Canada a cultural experience.
Calgary show was awesome. Great song selection. Thanks for playing ‘Don’t tell and we won’t ask’. Loved it.
A.P.
hand in there guys, it’s just as cold in Chicago, i am looking forward to seeing you guys in Grand Rapids and ready for Earth and Air to come out!
Trask

THRICE IS COMING TO BUFFALO!!!~!~!@~!@!~~!@@@BALLS!@@~!LJK;JAFJLK;
k sorry
Cameron
Dear Tepps,
Get better. Them canucks need ya.
word
Erin
Hey, I feel you on the weather thing. I LIVE HERE! And I work outside all year round. Cheer up, keep eating winter friendly meals like soups and spagetti and remember tea is not just for the ladies. Just so you know going to see your show in Toronto tomorrow night IS the highlight of my winter. A lot of bands flow though southern ontario but being broke prevents me from going to most of the great ones. I have been waiting patiently for several weeks to see you guys. Unfortunately my friends don’t share my incredible taste in music and I am going solo. Doesn’t matter anyway it’s going to be awesome!
Ryan
yeah adam, i already got tickets for that show..
Jp
Dear Thrice,
When recording with Garageband, did you guys ever figure out a way to change the time signature from one to another in a song, or change the tempo?
Thanks.
and feel better Tepps.
Matt M
I agree with JasonP, the Don’t Tell and We Won’t Ask performance like made my life. Really appreciate you guys stil givvener through the cold. Thanks for the pic Dustin!!!!Anybody know why the Winnipeg show was moved from Burton Cummings to Gerrick?
Phil
Thrice guys, Montreal’s gonna be crazy for you… The metropolis is the best place in montreal to play, and I think it’s the first place you played…
Anyway can’t wait to see u; since I met you on this stage when we opened up that show(band:manchester, for the tour with Face to Face), and Riley given me the Illusion is safety cd, after the show… fuck, you’ve change my life… I’m not able to find a band that kept me listening and listening…
Keep on rockin the free world!
Un fan québécois… À la vôtre(cheers)
Wally
Thank you guys so much for coming to Winnipeg. It was a great show and it was so cold outside.
adam?
ryan,
how much were tickets? and what kinda venue are we looking at here? i’m too lazy to go look myself. haha.
Ryan
Adam,
where are you from?
The show is at club infinity, its like $17. well worth it. Club infinity is pretty cool. Haven t been there in awhile though. I bought tickets in pre sale. I think its going to sell out.
Ryan
adam,
http://www.clubinfinitylive.com/web/..
Logan
@Jp - I’m pretty sure this is impossible with garageband… I’ve searched in the help file for this before and I remember reading something to the effect of, “You cannot have more than one tempo/time signature in a single song.” I’m bummed about this… although the time signature thing is easier to work around, not being able to change tempos makes things really annoying/difficult.
Chris Lane
You guys sounded amazing up here in Canada…as im sure you do everywhere you play. I was at the Thunder Bay show…it was awesome. I heard a couple of the new songs that will be on the new albums coming out this spring…it sounds really good. I think you sound technician is amazing. You guys were crystal clear when I saw you. I saw you a few years ago when you passed through and it was the same (crystal clear sound). Hope to see you guys again in the future.
Jason
A new Thrice DVD would be awesome.
Denise
You still did a great job last night with the band, Teppei. Even if you were feeling sick. Especially when you were singing the last song on the encore set. You did your best, and I’m personally proud. :) I do hope you guys come back, though. Maybe not in the winter. ;)
Denise
By last night, I mean the show you did at Kool Haus on the 15th. :)
chit
thrice played an acoustic set of: burn the fleet, the whaler, come all you weary, and moving mountains on friday at punkradiocast.com. the guys at the forum posted a link for anyone who missed it: http://forums.waterispoison.com/viewtopic.php?t=1226&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30
Ryan
Toronto setlist anyone?
Kaila
Just outta curiosity, and completely off topic. (I think)
Did anyone get pictures from the Edmonton show? I was there, but unable to get any, but if anyone knows where to find them, that would be amazing.
–Thanks
Denise
I got the set list at the end of the show:

Craig
Teppei can’t get sick! He’s my hero! Anyways, by the time of writing this i’m sure you are ok, so glad you’re better! Wanted to make it to a show (I live in California, but am willing to go to canada for you guys!) but due to work conflicts I couldn’t… although, i’m sure i’ll see you guys soon.
On a side note, can’t wait till volumes 3 and 4, been listening to the come all you weary videos and the alchemy index all 24 track mix constantly. Can’t even imagine what those will do to my world… I mean, here I am 5 months later still listening to volumes 1 and 2 every day and The Whaler has quickly become my favorite song (this is coming from a guy before listening to you guys I was isolated in rock only music) so two more CD’s of epic proportions will blow my mind. Can’t wait!
Jason
I need to see Lost Continent or The Flame Deluge live, that would be so Epic.
Jason
Thanks a ton for that link Chit.
Harold
Awesome show last night at metropolis guys! Can’t wait to listen Vol III & IV and to see you again. I’m a reporter for a smal montrealer website so you can read my review of the show on http://www.midnightpoutine.ca/music/2008/02/thrice_renoue_avec_ses_fans_au_metropolis/. Well, it’s in french so good luck to read it!
Wally
Hey chit thanks for that link dude, really!
adam?
thanks ryan.
i’m from northwest pa, so buffalo’s actually 1.5-2 hours closer than pittsburgh for me
Adam F.
The show in London Ontario tonight was F’in amazing. Best show i’ve been to in a very long time.
Thanks guys!
johnson
i have just listened to moving mountains about thirty times.
Tom
Firebreather, the best song you ever made. and the whole fire and water cds are just amazing. highly inperational. love you guys. hope you planning on a tour to europe, and sweden again.
Saekuto
aww Wordpress, my best friend….
Thanks for comming to montreal :D
Mike
For the record, it has snowed 38 out of the last 40 days in Grand Rapids, and it’s roughly ah degree outside right now. Oh, and one of the days it didn’t snow, it rained all day.
Polish Chef
Matt M - they often downsize form the Burt to the Garrick due to insufficient ticket sales. The Garrick is way more intimate, so that is awesome, but I’m surprised it didn’t sell as well.
You guys “front & center” from Winnipeg - if you’re at the front, expect to get pushed against the stage, don’t push back on people behind you. Anybody would gladly switch with you. It’s really distracting from the show & sucks when you’re trying to hurt people or kick their legs out from under them for being as close as you.
Shawn
Amazing show in London Fellas!!
Thanks,
Shawn
Cam Scott
amazing show friday in toronto, you guys are the best live band around.
cant wait for the new releases in april
Mike
I went and saw you guys on friday night at the Kool Haus in Toronto and you f*@#in ruled!!!! I was not inpressed by Say Anything though, they suck bad!!! I have never heard a worse band play the crap they were trying to play, worst band I have ever seen!!!! But I have to say that Attack in Black is one of the coolest bands I’ve seen that are new in a long time. I am gonna buy there album ASAP!!!! Thanks for a wicked show thrice, you guys rule!!!!
Bart
I just wanted to let you know how amazing your show in London was. Thanks a great deal for coming down and playing through any colds and challenges you had to go through (i’m sure driving down was terrible from Montreal).
I thought your set list was phenomenal. Such a great mix of old and new songs.. the only thing that sucks now is having to wait to see you guys again.
Thanks,
Bartosz
Cameron
so this might be cheesy or dumb,
but I really like it how all of us who check on this look out for each other. posting links, answering questions, just generally being nice.
have fun while you’re still up North guys.
Jimmy B
Best experience ever = Listening to the water disc while reading Moby Dick (especially The Whaler). Everyone needs to try it out.
Jared Knapp
I’m sorry for shouting “T&C” when you were about to introduce the next song last night, Dustin. But I really wanted to hear it!
You said it was gone, though… I understand.
BEST SHOW EVER, GUYS!
Hugo
I’d like to see how the Whaler is done live. I love Open Water live, although Digital Sea sounds a bit weird due to the cameras on youtube.
carlos
how’d u get moving mountains already?
Matt M
Polish chef - I agree with you that the people at the front should expect to be pushed into the stage, and it would suck for them to push back and distract people. I wasnt pushing back, i was holding myself upright against the stage so i didnt fall down. I know wht you mean about distracting (thrice opening for MCR at convention centre dec ‘05), that was a gong show. Every thrice show ive been to ive taken a beating from the crowd, but its been well worth it.
chaseT
dang im far behind. ive commented everything on this site and i need to catch up again!
veggie chili? mmm that sounds mighty good. but canadian winters? that doesnt sound good.
