ON THE WAY HOME…
February 24th, 2008 I just wanted to hop on here really quickly and apologize on behalf of myself and Ed, for having to cut last night’s Colorado Springs show a bit short (2 or 3 songs). We both got hit with a really bad flu (fevers, cold sweats, nausea, coughing, aches) in Kansas City on Friday night, and spent the entire day in bed on Saturday (not together). I guess our bodies had gotten fed up with keeping us healthy in sub-zero temperatures, and a decided to crap out a day early. I can honestly say that I’ve never felt that shitty before playing, in the entire history of this band (aside from the shows on Warped ‘03 that I missed because of my back), and I haven’t seen Ed in worse shape since he played seated in a chair in Cleveland on Warped ‘03. So please accept our apology, and know that we’ll make it up to you when we come to Denver in the spring. And thank you to those of you who made it out to the show, for making a nightmarish scenario, as fun as it was. with phlegm, -riley |

To the members of Thrice I just wanted to stop on here and say thank you for releasing the CD “Vheissu”. This is easily my most listened to CD and by far one of the best if not the best I own. This CD is such an inspiration to me to be a better person and I can not get over how good it is. Close to 2 1/2 years after the release I still listen to it almost daily and the best thing is I never skip a song.
I am sorry for this random of a post but i felt the need to do it.
Thanks for everything Thrice
and Get better soon Ed and Riley.
Sean
That’s OK. Hope you get better before you come back
Alexx
You wouldn’t get sick in Australia, you should do a headlining tour here, haha.
Logan
the cool thing about you guys is that you still played. you guys aren’t a-holes, like a lot of bands who would have cancelled the show. you respect your fans enough to not let them down.
the first time I saw Thrice was at SOMA in San Diego in October ‘06. the electricity at the venue cut out mid-set, and instead of storming off stage pissed like a normal band might have, they were really cool and humble about it. Dustin brought out an acoustic guitar and they played Stare at the Sun until the power came back on and they finished the set amazingly. I already loved Thrice before that, but that little act of humility won me over for life.
Many kudos to you guys.
Evan
Hey guys thanks a lot for doing the headling Canadian tour. Seeing u twice in Toronto in like 2 months was awesome! Pleaseeeeeee dont let the weather stop you from coming back to Toronto we love you there come back sooooon! Cant wait for Earth and Air!
Nick
Get better soon :P I hate to see my favourite band members sick
Nick
as in ‘favourite band’s members sick’
Dan
Come back up to Ontario three or four or five or sixteen more times and you four will be able to walk out in the snow without a coat on.
Kyle
“Get better soon”…? F that, get better NOW. That’s too bad you guys are sick, it’s always this time of year that crap comes around in the north. Sucks. Anyways, hope ya’ll feel better soon
Also, the first sentence is a quote from the comedian Demitri Martin. Look him up
Trask
Bah, that sucks. Don’t die on us, you two!
Just bought my tickets for the Hartford show in May. I’m dragging along a friend whom I am trying to convert. I’m sure he’ll be converted to the way of Thrice, one hundred percent.
scott
well look on the bright side… at least youll be in warm and sunny florida in just under two months.
i cant wait until then… one week after the release of earth and air- plenty of time for me to learn all of the words to rock out to them when you play them live!
totally stoked!!!
*rock on*

Chris
Dear Logan,
I too, went to SOMA in October ‘06 and it also was my first time seeing Thrice. If you recall, it was the first time we heard Firebreather before we even knew it was Firebreather. We also heard Come All You Weary. What an amazing show. I don’t think any show will ever beat the first show anyone sees.
ketan
wow… most bands never apologize for something like this. its okay, you always rock!
Logan
Chris - you better believe I recall that. haha. I remember almost wetting myself during Firebreather. That was definitely an epic night… right around the time they opened up with Music Box I knew it would be the best night of my life.
Joe
Logan, Chris - hell yes Soma! I was there too!
They’re coming to House of blues, so hope to see you all there
and get better guys, the world is in chaos without you all together
Josef
Guys, I would love for you to come to Europe, last tour me and some friends came out to a show in some in copenhagen and I would deffinitly do it once again in the blink of an eye!
Jess
best wishes get better soon:)
Katie
i feel your pain, dude.
i was sick at the cinci show last week and standing outside in line before the show in a thin jacket wasn’t the best of ideas.
regardless, get better, have a great break and see you guys at the metro shows (that’s right, plural)!
Alyssa
That 2003 Warped Tour show in Ventura was awesome though :)
elaine
hope you guys get well soon. lots of tea and rest, i agree.
Logan
I’m going to HOB in San Diego on 4/16, and HOB in Anaheim on 5/28. Joe and Chris?
Jason
As if you guys needed another reason to dislike Kansas City, first the “bad” show in October (I thought it was amazing) Now the flu from KC…
johnson
joe chris and logan, i too was at that soma show that the power went out, and at the last thrice soma show, and i am also going to anaheim 5-27
timmers
No worries boys. Take care of yourselves. I still had a great time watching you all play. See you in mid April in Tempe!
dustin
for what it’s worth gentlemen, i think a coldfront followed your entire trip. it’s been sunny and about 40 degrees for the past few days here in ottawa, which i was disappointed you didn’t make it to, but i understand, i hate driving here from toronto too.
Eric
Ok, I guess I’ll be the first to say it……..
PRE-ORDERS!!!!
Also, hope ya’ll feel better.
Johnny
Chris, I can safely say that plenty of shows I have been to have beaten the first one I saw.
Pearl Jam, Mute Math, Wilco, Sufjan Stevens, mewithoutYou, and Thrice (just to name a few) have most certainly beaten the first show I ever went to: Weezer with Dashboard Confessional. *shudders, and reaches for copy of Pinkerton*
P.s. Thrice + Philadelphia = love.
Johnny
However, I read that wrong, but yeah, the first time I saw them was when they were touring with Brand New last Fall.
Brand New was totally outshined by Thrice (and mwY) and I loved it.
HAY
bear your crosses gentlemen
Kevin
Everyone’s getting that flu. Feel better!
Logan
Yeah, actually, now that you mention it, my first concert was Weird Al. He’s brilliantly funny, but as far as musical maturity and what-have-you, he’s been outshined by quite a few concerts I’ve attended.
Alvaro
YEAH! COME TO EUROPE!!
wHAT ABOUT SPANISH FUNS??
Mitch
Yeah, I’m just getting better from being sick, so I feel you guys. But I wussed out and didnt go to classes haha. I cant wait to see yall and Circa Survive!
chaseT
