* UPDATED UPDATE: Conan is happening on MAY 5th, not March 5th as was originally posted. Oops.

Here’s some news updates:
- It seems like a lot of you already know, but we posted a track off of the Earth disc of our upcoming record (Alchemy Index Vols. III & IV) called “Come All You Weary” on our myspace. You can check it out here.
- We’re also going to be releasing a digital only EP featuring the full album version of Come All You Weary, an acoustic version of “The Whaler” that Dustin did live on the radio, the Digital Sea video, and a special Digital Sea remix by Ben Weinman of Dillinger Escape Plan. That’s going to be coming out March 4th, so keep an eye out for that.
- We’ve reconfirmed our Conan O’Brien performance, and it’s slated for MAY 5th. We’re all huge Conan fans and were pretty bummed when the last one fell through (because of the writer’s strike) so needless to say, we’re pretty excited about getting a chance to rebook it.
- For those of you who are wondering, we are definitely planning on releasing a vinyl version of the Alchemy Index. I can’t really say much about it at the moment because we’re still trying to work out the details, but yes, it will happen.
- Finally, in addition to Circa Survive and Pelican, our friends in a band called Aushua will be joining us for 5 dates starting in Portland and finishing out the tour with us till LA. They’re an amazing band so if you’re coming to any of those shows, do yourself a huge favor and get there early enough to catch them. On second thought, if you’re coming to ANY of the shows, do yourself a huge favor and get there early, because you do not want to miss Pelican either. oh and a little side note…Attack in Black, whom we just toured with in Canada, released a vinyl only record called the Curve of the Earth and it’s really good. I just listened to it for the first time yesterday and it’s great. Very stripped down and great vibe. Check it.

    And “Weary” = absolutely beautiful. I’ve been listening to a live show on youTube for the last couple months, but it doesn’t stand up against the recorded version. I’m so excited for April. Volumes III and IV are going to make the most fantastic birthday present.

    What song would you have played, and which one will you play on Conan?

    I’d love to have a shot at your coming tour. Kind of difficult, living in Portugal and stuff.

    I’m not into buying digital stuff or singles, but I’ll see what I can do. Still bummed I didn’t get the special edition of Vheissu, lol.

    i will never forget seeing this song live a week ago, standing right beneath teppei. it was more powerful than words can describe. this song is so beautiful. i have a feeling it will be on repeat for awhile. i can’t wait for the other two volumes, and i can’t wait to see you guys in atlanta and buffalo.

    on a side note, “come all you weary” is only being released as a digital single? i would love to own it and have it in my possession, but i’m getting the impression that’s not going to happen. either way, i’ll be buying it, for sure.

    I actually JUST got a copy of the Vheissu special edition, and I must say, it’s money well spent. getting a glimpse into the songs from the writers/performers is awesome.

    hmmm, 4 seasons? not sure how deep you could go with that. haha that’d sort of be like writing a concept record about earth’s four hemispheres. maybe they could come up with half of one song idea and that would be it. it’s a nice thought though.

    or MAYBE thrice’s next album could be about the four chambers of the heart… left and right atria, and left and right ventricles. then they could divide the release in half so they only release two parts at once. the only question would then be which two to release at once. they could either release them by left/right or by atrium/ventricle.

    for example:
    The Aortal Index Vols. I and II - Left Atrium & Left Ventricle

    I can already see the album artwork.

    actually I’m thinking more along the lines of a story-epic. something like the odyssey. with songs like dust of nations, firebreather, the messenger, the whaler, etc. you know they can pull it off. something that really sets them a part from the rest. kind of like green day with their rock opera jig, only a million times better (in terms of music and story AND meaning).
