WE IZ ON TURR
April 18th, 2008

Hello, you. It’s Riley.

The tour is off and running, and despite a little rust, some technical difficulties/evil robots (shocking, right?), and too many songs to choose from to make our set lists, everything is going well. Thanks to those of you who made it out to one or both of the San Diego shows. Great crowds both nights, and it was great to start a tour at home (kinda) amongst friends and family and phenomenal weather. We couldn’t be happier about the bands that are out with us on this run. Getting to share the stage and hang with Pelican and Circa Survive every night for the next six weeks, is a blessing.

There were some questions about the “Roadie for a Day” contest we’re running with MacBeth, PureVolume and LiveNation, regarding how much “work” you’d be doing and if you’d have to “carry heavy stuff”. The truth is, you’ll have to perform the entire load-in by yourself, set everything up perfectly (without any help from us), set up the lighting rig, go to front of house and run soundcheck, focus lights, line check everything before the set, and once the show starts… you’ll have to run sound and lights from front of house while teching on stage. You do it all. Once the show is over, you’ll have to break everything down, pack it up (again, with no help), load the trailer, and then once you’re done, we’ll take turns punching you in the balls (if you’re a girl, you’ll skip this step, obviously). Sounds cool, right?

Seriously though…

You won’t have to do any heavy lifting, or any lifting at all, really. You won’t set anything up, or be put to work at all. You basically get to come out to the show early, hang out with us and our crew, see the inner workings of what makes a Thrice show happen from start to finish, hang backstage and just be a part of our crew for a day. You’ll be a “fun tech” more or less. Plus, you get free shoes. Awesome deal, right? So go sign up.

Big thanks to those of you who have picked up Vols. 3 & 4 this week. We REALLY appreciate your support. We worked long and hard on this project and to have it finally be out in it’s entirety feels great. It’s crazy to think that we finished recording it almost a year ago, and it’s just now getting to your ears. So now that you have the whole Alchemy Index, I thought it would be cool if you guys could post track listings of your version of The Alchemy Index in the comments. You’ve got 24 tracks to choose from, you can put them in whatever order feels best to you, mix and match songs from different EP’s, think about segues and how songs flow in and out of each other, and just basically build your own Alchemy Index. Build and share playlists in iTunes, maybe? Discuss why you chose the order you did? It’s like Build-A-Bear, but without the bears, and without the five-year-olds. Or maybe it isn’t. What?

That’s about it for now. When your post references Build-A-Bear, it means you’ve had too much coffee and that it’s time to back away from the computer. We’ll be updating regularly, so keep checking in, and start posting your ideas for track listings in the comments.

Peace,

Riley

  6. Weihsin

Yeah, the Build-A-Bear playlists looks like a great idea!
I’m gonna do it soon ;)

Nice Riley. I can see this tour being amazing. Probably the beards too. I just saw the set list from both nights, and they were really good. The only request I have is if you do play paper tigers. AH seriously. SO many people I know are going and we are all praying for it! You will have the best show ever in Phoenix tomorrow. Also Im not sure if all of you will be playing at Zia tomorrow, but I will for sure show up. Can’t wait. Best day of my life April 19, 2008

  8. Mike

I wish you guys would have another show in the midwest so I could see you, like Omaha or Minneapolis or Kansas City or Des Moines… Or just let me win the “fun tech” contest so I can see you anyway (and hang out backstage)!

  9. rivers

our doors were at 6, pelican went on at 7, circa at 8, thrice at 9:10 & they were done around 10:40-45 both nights.

If I were a guy, I’d let you guys punch me in the balls.
Seriously now, I cannot wait for the San Francisco show. Every time I think about it, my heart and brain jump out of my body… it’s a good thing. I’ll be sure to mess around with TAI and try to find something interesting, as I’ve already seen some people do.
    Ahhhhhhhhhhh May 25th!

P.S. The set lists from the shows so far look really fun :-)

  17. Alyssa

I miss the Thrice Alliance :(

  18. matt

build-a-bear time!!! i’m going to use all 24 songs, but break them up into groups of 6, like TAI.

    Disc 1 -
    Firebreather
    Burn The Fleet
    Daedalus
    Come All You Weary
    Open Water
    Silver Wings

Firebreather is a perfect way to start a CD… it’s hard, it’s rough, it’s in your face. It segues seamlessly into Burn The Fleet, which keeps it heavy, just turned down a notch. Where Burn The Fleet drops off, you get the clicks into Daedalus, which offsets the heaviness of the two previous tracks. Come All You Weary and Open Water slow it down, yet keep the passion coming. Silver Wings goes great right after Open Water - it keeps the electronic sound, and ends the disc 180 degrees from where you started, but still provides a segue into the next disc.

    Disc 2 -
    The Sky Is Falling
    The Arsonist
    Night Diving
    Digging My Own Grave
    A Song For Milly Michaelson
    The Whaler

The Sky Is Falling makes for a good intro as well, but because it’s intriguing more than anything. The Arsonist shows off classic Thrice, but also catches you off guard (of which I am a fan). It’s also the worst song in the world to try to follow, but I picked Night Diving, because it’s got enough emotion to follow, yet doesn’t do it with words (obviously). Night Diving fades perfectly into Digging My Own Grave, musically as well as with the desperation feeling. ASFMM (too long to spell out) uses a very similar sound in the end as the beginning of The Whaler, which ends the CD well with the harmonizing chords. From here, you can go anywhere.

    Disc 3 -
    The Messanger
    Broken Lungs
    Kings Upon The Main
    Moving Mountains
    The Lion and The Wolf
    The Flame Deluge

    I know, I know - it’s got 3 Fire songs… who cares? :)
The Messanger, again, provides that classic, hard Thrice sound which draws in the listener. Broken Lungs comes in to balance it out musically, but also lyrically. It ends with a chord that falls nicely into Kings Upon The Main. Moving Mountains provides an interesting twist in this group, but still fits in without a problem. This was another hard song to follow up, but TLATW lines up just fine. Now, if I could, i’d edit out the beginning of The Flame Deluge here, and start it right on the intro piano. It proves to be a better segue, and also a killer ending.

    Disc 4 -
    Digital Sea
    Backdraft
    Lost Continent
    As The Crow Flies
    The Earth Isn’t Humming
    Child Of Dust

Ahh disc 4… the leftover songs haha. But, they all flowed together nicely. The order works for segues, and Child of Dust is the greatest way I’ve ever heard to end a group of songs. That’s about the only reasong I have for this group…. sorry. :)

There ya go Riley (and everybody else)…. my Alchemy Index. It’s in no way better than the original, but it passed time at work.

Hahaha just kidding……….. It would take way to long to figure out a set list for 24 songs.. I will try but it might take like a year or two.

Can’t wait for the 25th either!!! Its going to be amazing.. And its only a 3 hour drive yay!!! (No one ever goes to NorCal :(
Michele, if you need someone to punch you in the balls I am willing.

Also… If you Thrice guys read this.. Or anyone else… Check out the song “I Cheat the Hangman” by the Doobie Brothers… I think it would be like the most absolutly amazing cover song of all time… If you can find it on the net, just imagine Dustin singing.. And the end gets pretty chaotic as well..

  20. Jon

hey guys, i was at the second san diego show, and just want to say how great you guys were. ive been watching your shows since before illusion and this was probably the best ive seen you. i dont know if youll read this but im sure you guys could hear all the people chanting for the old shit (as usual) and for harder stuff when you were playing earth and air stuff. i just want to tell you to keep doing what youre doing, that the real fans are behind you no matter what you do.

i love deadbolt as much as the next guy….but maybe just dont play it for one tour so the bros stop coming and trying to start pits to earth songs ;)

  21. Jon

oh, and agreed on that torche album, its RIDICULOUS

  22. Lino

this is hard just because I’m trying to keep it to 3 songs from each ep and make each song kind of flow together:

    1. Firebreather
    2. The Earth Isn’t Humming
    3. Open Water
    4. The Sky Is Falling
    5. Night Diving
    6. The Messenger
    7. Daedalus
    8. Moving Mountains
    9. The Whaler
    10. The Arsonist
    11. Come All You Weary
    12. Broken Lungs

  23. SeanLang

I iz in ur comentz steelin ur spase

  24. Tricia

Never been inside a Build-A-Bear, hope I never have to…

    1. Burn The Fleet
    2. Night Diving
    3. A Song For Milly Michaelson
    4. Digging My Own Grave
    5. Backdraft
    6. Silver Wings

I know there’s absolutely no theme, but frankly, that doesn’t concern me. I’m glad to see that there are others that appreciate Night Diving as much as I do. In my opinion, it’s the best song on “Water” - and I’m normally
anti-instrumental. Burn The Fleet is just amazing, A Song For Milly Michaelson makes me cry, and DMOG is pretty much heart-breaking. Backdraft and Silver Wings just kick ass. That’s my explanation.

  25. Logan

what about if now Thrice had to put out four more EPs but switching the elements of the particular songs… for example, take the air disc and turn them into fire songs, take earth and turn it into water, etc. actually now that I think about it, the only one that I think would work would be Air->Fire haha. otherwise I think the songs are pretty set in their specific genres. I’d cry to hear the ending of Daedalus with some of that Firebreather-sized distortion, though.

  26. Logan

which, by the way Thrice, I LOVE the heavier moments on Air, thank you so much for incorporating those. it was pretty insightful to put some heaviness there - air can be pretty powerful at times. not only that, but they seem like they’re even more loaded with emotion than some of the Fire stuff. ‘grats.

    OH GODS!!!…

  27. Oscar

I absolutely love TAI now that it’s complete. :)
I can’t skip any songs because they all go so well with each other, Just awesome.

But I see everyone wanting more Alchemy Index songs. Yah, it was amazing. But I think the next CD Thrice will make is going to be the one that makes a real impact on music. Like “Their Cd”. The one that makes them one of “those” bands that really set the way for an evolution in music.

While the Alchemy Index was a cool idea, and it helped them grow, I think it is a good setup for what they can really do.

By trying to make the songs fit a “Theme/Element” It still limited them in some ways. I think they’ve completely broken the boarders that have held them down with these eps. Like they’re not the alternative/post-hardcore band they once were. I can hear that it’s them just making the music that comes out of them, and there is no music better then that. Just that natural feel, without that outside pressure to change it. And I think we’ve gotten a good taste of their potential. But I have a feeling their next album will just be mind blowing. (I know I’m getting way ahead of myself considering they probably haven’t even started writing yet. But Something tells me the future is gonna be good!)

  28. the guy who fell in the water

Awesome! Seriously, I cannot wait til You guys get to SF

    Cya at the Filmore!

  29. Stefan

    my Alchemy Index:

    Firebreather
    Broken Lungs
    Open Water
    Digging My Own Grave
    The Earth Isnt Humming
    Lost Continent
    Daedalus
    The Arsonist
    Come All You Weary
    The Whaler
    Silver Wings
    The Flame Deluge

  30. Logan

Oscar - I somewhat agree, although I believe that for me Vheissu already fits the qualifications of being “their CD.” then again, I thought that about TAITA I guess too. All I know is I’m REALLY excited for their next album, but it is not time to get my hopes up yet seeing as it’s going to be forever from now.

  31. Aaron

Did anybody else notice that the “Earth” disc says Volume V, instead of IV like the rest of the packaging? Also, “The Earth Isn’t Humming” was *writen* and *pefomed* by Frodus. ;)

  32. matt

were we only supposed to take 12 songs?

    oh well… :)

  33. Kyle

Aaron– yeah a few people have noticed that… it was a discussion the other day on AbsolutePunk. Did you get yours pre-order? So far those are the only ones I’ve heard of with the typos… I got mine at a local music place and the labels are all correct

As far as re-designing AI… that might take a while and exam week is coming up. Which means I’ll be procrastinating like crazy and probably work on this rearrangement instead… :P

  34. Jorge

I bought mine the day it came out and it has typos, but it says “perfomed” rather than “pefomed” lol

And true that about exams coming up, I got 3 next week, but at least I got out of the exam I have the day after the Orlando concert, dodged a bullet there!

  35. adam?

could it be that thrice is aware of the greatness of LOLcats?

  36. JP

    Wow tough.
    This is extremely tough.
    I guess…..um,

    1. Firebreather
    2. Broken Lungs
    3. Open Water.
    4. Digging My Own Grave
    5. Burn the Fleet
    6. The Sky is Falling
    7. The Arsonist
    8. As the Crow Flies
    9. Come All You Weary
    10. The Whaler
    11. The Messenger
    12. Child of Dust

That is just like…a rough sketch off the top of my head.
I’d still have to deliberate this arrangement.

  37. Katie

    dude..
bring on all that roadie work.
go ahead & challenge me, thrice.
I’D KICK ASS & TAKE NAMES!

    ummm…
i need to go work on MY AI now.
heh. i am probably going to put entirely too much thought into it.

  38. Trask

    Okay, my personal Index.

    1. Moving Mountains
    2. Firebreather
    3. The Earth Isn’t Humming
    4. Night Diving
    5. As the Crow Flies
    6. Broken Lungs

The Moving Mountains - Firebreather transition came up when I put the elements on shuffle and it was awesome. I always thought Broken Lungs would be a great way to end a CD.

    7. The Sky Is Falling
    8. The Messenger
    9. Digging My Own Grave
    10. The Arsonist
    11. Kings Upon the Main
    12. The Whaler

The Digging My Own Grave - Arsonist transition is also awesome.

    13. The Flame Deluge
    14. Daedalus
    15. Come All You Weary
    16. Silver Wings
    17. Open Water
    18. The Lion and the Wolf

The Flame Deluge makes a killer finale, but it would also make a killer opener in my mind.

    19. Digital Sea
    20. Burn the Fleet
    21. Backdraft
    22. Lost Continent
    23. A Song for Milly Michaelson
    24. Child of Dust

I cannot stop listening to A Song for Milly Michaelson. Also, Child of Dust is the best way to end anything ever, what with the sounds of burial being the last thing you hear.

  39. rivers

pshh. just gotta deal w/ the exams in advance. i had one wednesday at 3 & one on thursday morning at 8 and still went to the sd shows both of those nights. admittedly maybe not the wisest idea but well worth it.

  40. Bronsen

Here’s the setlist but instead of writing it out you can guess at the hints a gave you… How fun!

    Setlist:
    Mes
    Stare
    Digi
    Hum
    Art
    Stand
    Dust
    Dae
    Lost
    Child
    Burn
    Broken
    Hold
    Trust
    Come
    Red
    Dead
    Encore:
    Lion
    Miles
    Earth

  41. Bronsen

That is the Vegas setlist btw

  42. Logan

wow… awesome. wish I had been at that show! that’s like the universe’s best setlist, topping the one from the show I went to two nights ago, I think. the only things missing are Don’t Tell and Motion w/o Meaning (although I don’t believe MWM is in the rotation - if they play it at any shows during this tour give me a heads up!).

  43. Lino

to awake and avenge the dead? :0 love when they play that song. they don’t do it very often.

  44. Bronsen

Nah it was deadbolt I wished they played that one its one of my favs by far!

  45. Bill

At the end of Child of Dust, during the couplet when they’re burying the mic, it sounds like there’s a faint heartbeat, or is that just the sound of dirt covering the box?

  46. Jimmy

    Logan - way back when

I’m currently 75% through (almost all of the instrumentals, but only a little vox) my version of firebreather - that is, working through the song in each of the three elements that are not fire. I kind of like how it sounds so far. I’ll post it when I’m done, and I’d love to see what ppl think. The way it works so far is V1/C1 - Earth, V2/C2 - Water, outro - air. I started this before air came out, which is a little weird, but might be alright. The only problem now is finals, which diminishes my recording time…

Also, this album really has hit a chord with me and has made me want to start on kind of a response to TAI, that is, kind of a putting-the-pieces-back-together thing… combining the elements back in different combinations until a coherent sound comes out. I kind of feel like its something I’d like to hear Thrice do, but then again, I doubt they will. It seems like revisiting too much for them.

    Just my thouhgts. peace.

    Can’t wait till baltimore.

  47. Tyler

HEY RILEY YOUR ANGELS WON TONIGHT!!!! 5 -4

    go AGLS

  48. matt

on a sweet catch by Torii Hunter too!!!

    GO HALOS!

  49. rivers

i’m assuming was red sky & not red death? still only 2 illusion songs & no identity. interesting.

  50. Matt

i haven’t really put together “my own” alchemy index yet. although i have to say child of dust into firebreather is kind of interesting. love the new shiz guys. hope to see you in san fran.

    peace

  51. Scott

Dude, i find it comical that I have read in numerous places where Dustin and other members have stated “WE AREN’T PLAYING ANYTHING OFF OF IDENTITY CRISIS ANYMORE” and yet everyone on here, who are apparently big Thrice fans, seems to be surprised when yet another show goes by and they don’t play T&C or anything of IC. Blows my friggin mind.

  52. zach

whoa scott! don’t get so mad! (totally kidding)

I know, I think it’s a laugh too - everything IC is so RAW and (in Thrice’s words) immature. It’s really no wonder they don’t want to play it again - like living as you did at 19 when you’re happily married with children. It just doesn’t make sense, it’s out of place, and you’ve grown so much wiser, understand so much more, love so much more deeply.

This is not to say that Thrice, or anybody else, is not amazing and a real blessing at a young age, but our young, adolescent perspectives are just so limited, cannot see and love and comprehend like an adult can. they’ve learned motion isn’t meaning, but taking root and growing, reaching heavenward constantly, they are no longer saplings trying to imitate a mature tree, but mature trees reflecting the Creator who made them, giving us all examples to live by.

    lovezachary

by the way, if anybody understands what I just said, call me, because I’d like to marry you ;)
and sorry for pouring out my heart on a thrice fan website :)

  53. Matt

    Huzzah, my copy finally came!

Doesn’t have the V typo either.

  54. luke

    hey guys.

did anyone read the thrice interview in kerrang in this weeks issue?

when they mentioned about them being music geeks playing to other music geeks.

well it got me thinking and was wondering if anyone was interested in checking one of my bands out. its probably as geeky as you will get, songs about star wars, lord of the rings and donkey kong are just some of them hahah.

its very heavy and the recordings are prety lo-fi but check it out if you can.

    www,myspace.com/stabspazzstab

    cheers guys.

ps. its almost too hard to change TAI into a mini playlist, its perfect as it is.

  55. Ben

With all due respect, Identity Crisis kind of sucks. Everything since has been phenominal, for different reasons.

A bunch of people posted gigantic Alchemy All-Star lists in the last update, so I’m just gonna do a very brief list of songs I hope I get to see live (with an enthusiastic crowd) before I die:

    1. To Awake and Avenge the Dead
    2. The Red Death
    3. The Earth Will Shake (twice hasn’t been enough!)
    4. Hoods on Peregrine (saw this one when they played in Santa Cruz 2 years ago, want to see it again!)
    5. Like Moths to Flame

  56. Harold

    1-Moving Mountain
    2-The Messenger (too short)
    3-Digital Sea
    4-Digging My own Grave
    5-Broken Lungs
    6-The Whaler
    7-Firebreather
    8-Daedelus
    9-Burn The Fleet
    10-Silver Wings
    11-The Arsonist
    12-Night Diving

Keep pushing it far and come back to Montreal!

  57. matt

    zach-
i’d marry you, but my girlfriend might get a little bit upset. hahaha
    nice explanation though. :)

anyway… i figured i should make up a 12 song AI now, so here it is

    1. Firebreather
    2. Daedalus
    3. The Sky Is Falling
    4. The Whaler
    5. Silver Wings
    6. Moving Mountains
    7. The Messanger
    8. The Lion and The Wolf
    9. The Flame Deluge
    10. Night Diving
    11. Come All You Weary
    12. Child Of Dust

They all flow together nicely, but with some moments where you get caught off guard (5 to 6, 6 to 7). Again, i’d edit out the beginning of The Flame Deluge and start it with the piano, because that segue is a little more comfortable. CAYW and Child Of Dust end it with passion.

  58. alvaro

    when a cayw video>>>>>>>>??

  59. luke

sorry the link was wrong as i wrote it wrong….

    3. Daedalus
    4. Moving Mountains
    5. Night Diving
    6. Child of Dust

Although I didn’t want to do it (the originals are perfect in my mind), these are my favorite/most desired to see live (mainly because i want to see how they could pull it off…)

I’ve seen digital sea live, and i love dustin’s vocals at the end with the effect he is using and the other songs would (in my mind) make an awesome mini set list…

Everyone! Please make more lists, I really like reading about them and your input on the different songs…=)

  63. Chris

I was at that Angels game last night.

It was one hell of a game!

  64. Dan

I wanna be a roadie for a day!
    Stupid age requirement.

  65. matt

    Chris-
    you lucky SOB… haha :)

  66. Jimmy

Well, you know how Dustin thought he might write only six songs but do them differently? I think a lot of them do run the same thematic lines, so that’s how I ordered them - of course it’s not perfect, or close to it. Hey it was fun though.

    Disc One - The Individual
    1. Firebreather
    2. The Messenger
    3. Digital Sea
    4. Night Diving
    5. The Sky is Falling
    6. Moving Mountains

    Disc Two - Power
    1. Open Water
    2. Daedalus
    3. Digging My Own Grave
    4. The Lion and The Wolf
    5. The Flame Deluge
    6. Kings Upon the Main

    Disc Three - Love songs
    1. Backdraft
    2. The Whaler
    3. A Song For Milly Michaelson
    4. As the Crow Flies
    5. Come All You Weary
    6. Silver Wings

Disc Four - Calls To Arms?
    1. The Arsonist
    2. Burn the Fleet
    3. Lost Continent
    4. Broken Lungs
    5. The Earth Isn’t Humming
    6. Child of Dust

Yeah there are a few I’m not totally happy with here, and I would have liked a sonnet on each disc, but hey its what I got

  67. kate

I wanna be a roadie for a day too!!!

Too bad I live in Canada…

    BTW I LOVE CANADA.

  68. Jimmy

Oh yeah, i forgot ppl were explaining stuff. Disc 1 I was going for just stories of individuals being changed by the element - best fits there are firebreather and the messenger, as well as moving mountains. Digital sea keeps that isolatedness going. The one stretch was the sky is falling. That could have gone with power or love - talking about his daughter and the inescapable nature of, well, the sky falling. But i think it works “I want to be strong enough to not let my fear decide my fate”.

Disc two - this one was like power of the elements over the individual. This might be a whole disc of stretches. Open water “cause it gives and it takes away”, “but I’ll sail as long as I still have breath in me”. Daedalus is totally hopeless (but it’s not so much the element…). Digging my own grave, again, helplessness of the narrator. The lion and the wolf “rip open your flesh”, kings “i’ve held them down beneath the crushing tide till they learn that no one masters me”. The biggest stretch was the Flame Deluge - I guess the final couplet emphasizes the destruction it causes?

Disc 3 - there are a lot of love songs on here, and it was tough to tell between the protective songs (like milly, sky) and the more general ones. I like backdraft in this sense a lot - nice work thrice working love into fire in a non-cheesy way!!! Whaler, duh. Milly, duh. Crow, duh. CAYW - Jesus loves us, right? Silver wings (this was in close competition with Child of Dust”, but still makes it

Disc 4 - The arsonist and Child could have been on love songs (”I love this city” “though I only ever gave you love” to be blunt), but it’s more realizing the evil that’s befallen the city or the planet. Burn the fleet - where else do I put that one? One of my least favorite songs lyrically off the index. Lost continent and Broken Lungs kind of exemplify what I was going for here, as well as The Earth isn’t Humming. There you have it.

  69. Jimmy

    daedalus is helpless*

  70. Joe

    IC does not suck :)

  71. Ricky

Alright well to totally flip things back to what we were talking about, I was listening to Thrice this morning and here’s a setlist I would like to hear :):

    -Firebreather
-To Awake and Avenge the Dead
    -Digital Sea
    -Moving Mountains
    -For Miles
    -Backdraft
    -The Melting Point of Wax
    -Daedalus
    -Open Water
    -The Artist in the Ambulance
    -Kill Me Quickly
-Between the End and Where We Lie
    -Broken Lungs
    -Stand and Feel Your Worth
And to end the set on a completely different note than typically:
    -Seein’ Red/Screaming at a Wall

  72. Jorge

I agree Joe, I love all of Thrice’s albums, I just so happen to listen to their newer stuff more, and can appreciate how far along they’ve come, but I can just as easily pop in IC and rock out to it. Each album has a special place in my heart.

Argh can’t wait, 1 week and 1 day till THRICE!!! Dream set list from all the songs mentioned so far (in no particular order):

    All That’s Left
    Artist in the Ambulance
    Atlantic
    Broken Lungs
    Cold Cash Colder Hearts
    Come All You Weary
    Daedalus
    Digital Sea
Don’t Tell and We Won’t Ask
    For Miles
    Hoods on Peregrine
    Hold Fast Hope
    Of Dust and Nations
    Red Sky
    Silhouette
    Stare At The Sun
    The Messenger

    Encore Songs:
    Deadbolt
    Child of Dust
    The Earth Will Shake

Actually, I don’t care what you play as long as you play Hold Fast Hope in Orlando :D

  73. Chris

    Jimmy-

It is an interesting point you made that Backdraft could be a love song.
IMHO I really don’t think it is. I always thought of Backdraft with themes of addiction/relapse. Now, that could be wrong, but music is always open to interpretation right? Now, while that might not be the theme in the song, I still think that “love” as it in mentioned in Backdraft isn’t one of the positive sort.

Where I get that is from when one gives the most attention to, the most care, the most devotion, dedication and commitment, etc. IMHO that is love to me. So like when someone is addicted to whatever it is, by that definition, they “love” it, despite the fact that the addiction does not love back and they know it.

So yes, I believe that when Dustin wrote Backdraft, he was thinking of something in the realm of that and not necessarily literally “love”.

I’m sorry if that didn’t make any sense at all.
    -Chris

  74. Denise

Riley, you listen to Emily Haines? That’s awesome! I listen to Metric, too. I was happy when she started doing solo stuff. :D

I wish you guys the best on the tour! Enjoy yourselves, though I’m sure you will! ^_^

( Too bad I’m not eligible for the roadie contest. ;-; That would have been cool. )

  75. kate

mmmm Emily Haines. LISTEN TO “ANTHEM OF A SIXTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL” BY BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE. she sings it and its amazing.

  76. Jimmy

Chris - well put. I’m right with you, if that makes any sense (because you did in fact disagree…or so it seems)

Yeah I was going for the addiction/love by definition thing there. I feel like if Dustin was going for a kind of categorical similarity between discs and love was one of these categories, putting such a song on the fire disc would be quite tricky. It seemed to me that this would be a nifty solution to said problem - to put kind of a twisted look on the idea of love as dependent and all.

All that being said, I really like the song - one of Thrice’s most aggressive creative efforts - going into the split-thirds chords (it took me forever to figure that one out) and the way the literal and metaphorical aspects of the lyrics fit so well with each other… brilliant. Not terribly catchy, but brilliant.

  77. kate

ugh i actually meant “ANTHEMS FOR A SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL” *brain fart*

  78. Katie

    kate,
    i love that song.
i’m not a huge broken social scene fan, but there was a point where i listened to that song on repeat for DAYS.
    so pretty.

  79. Aaron

    Kyle-

I got mine at Best Buy…so no pre-order. Interesting. I guess they’re a rarity, haha.

  80. Katie

i also got mine at best buy & it had the V typo.. so did my best friend and so did her copy.

i’m actually pretty tickled about the typos haha
especially if they do correct it and whatnot.

kind of like with bleed american by JEW back in the day..
i had the album with the ORIGINAL title that ended up being changed after 9/11.

  81. israel

So does anyone think that Thrice would ever play a show in Alaska…or is Canada as close as it gets….. I just notice that in the “If We Could Only See Us Now” DVD Dustin is wearing an Alaska shirt…and those don’t just sell anywhaere.

  82. Sam

seriously i always ask this but when are you coming to the U.K. i mean i cant help but feel left out because you’ve done a tour of the U.S., a tour of Canada and now a another tour of the U.S.
you guys are my favorite band ever and nothing would change that, im just a bit disappointed really.

  83. Matt

A UK tour would indeed be most welcome.

    Maybe alongside Radiohead?
Now THAT would be something worth seeing, oh my yes.

  84. Jamie

Or Thrice could do a 3 night residency at the carling academy Birmingham, playing 2 hr sets each night :-)

    pwease ?

  85. Denise

PS: I’m the biggest nerd for putting this together.
    http://youtube.com/watch?v=1hdx3sZdVso

  86. Tom

if they do that jamie can i come stay at yours for a couple of nights?

i’m still hoping dtre&r headline reading/leeds lock up/concrete jungle stage in August pretty please. next line up announcements are mid may i think.

going to go to at least two (out of a probable total of only about 4) of the next round of UK shows, JUST in case the unthinkable happens.

i pre-ordered and got a message saying that iii & iv aren’t coming til wednesday and now the stream is off their myspace page. badness.

  87. lucci

i wrote a transcription of the intro of daedalus for any who care to see it

  88. Ryan

    setlist anyone???

  89. Mike

Someone should write out the chords for Child Of Dust. I was trying to get it on piano at like 2 in the morning, but I got tired and stopped.

It didn’t sound bad playing Am G F Em all the way through (until the final couplet, which I couldn’t figure out) and singing, but that doesn’t work playing with the album after the first verse, as the chord progression gets a lot more complicated than that.

  90. Mike

Oh yeah, and I have the error on my Earth disc too., but I bought mine at FYE.

  91. Jorge

    post it up lucci!

  92. lucci

chill, i figured ill just finish the whole thing, maybe by monday night or something

  93. Chris

    Mike.

The couplet to all the Sonnets is

    C G F

  94. Jimmy

Mike, I’m workin on it - I was doing it at 5 in the morning, then I quit too haha. Here’s what I have so far

    Dear Prodigal… Am Em F C G
All Eden’s wealth Am Em F G Em
    Though I only… Am Em F C G
    Uprooted flowr’s G Am Dm G
    Child of Dust… C Em A G
    Though above F C G* G7

    Safe C G F yada yada

    * not so sure here. Could be a G/D, but I’m still workin it out.

I’ll come up with some sheet music eventually - I haven’t worked through the inversions yet… why does the piano have to be so quiet?!?!

  95. Logan

    Child of Dust:

    first 4 lines of lyrics:
Am Am Am Am Em Em Em Em F F F F C C Bm Bm
    Am Am Am Am Em Em Em Em F F F F C C Em F

and I couldn’t figure out the rest because I don’t actually play piano.

but I know for sure the couplet is
    C G F

    so, hopefully that helped.

  96. Jimmy

    While we’re at it, though…

    The Flame Deluge

    Dm/A Dm
    Dm/A Dm add4
    Gm A
    Bb A
    same for all three quatrains
F C Bb for the couplet

    Silver Wings

    Cm Ab
    Cm Ab
    Fm Ab
    Fm Ab
    Bb Ab
    Bb Ab

Eb Bb Ab for the couplet.

Kings is a work in progress

  97. Logan

word, I am definitely the third one who posted that. redundancy. oh well.

but actually Chris, not all the sonnets are CGF. only child of dust is, because it’s the only one in that key. let’s see here:

    Couplets:
    The Flame Deluge - F C A#

    Kings - A# F D#

    Silver Wings - D# A# G#

    Child - C G F

  98. Logan

haha we need to stop all posting transcriptions at once. they’re getting confusing. I guess I’ll just stop first, mine are the most useless thus far. haha

  99. Jorge

lucci, I’m good, I thought you just needed someone to speak out on whether they wanted to see what you got so far or not, but yeah, ’sup to you if you want to post what you got now or the finished thing later.

  100. Mike

Wow, that was quick. Thanks guys!

  101. Katie

    speak english, all of you!

    :-P

  102. Trask

Okay, Lion and the Wolf piano transcription for anyone who wants it. It’s a .mus. I arranged the lyric-less vocal line for two voices because that’s how I’ll be covering it this Friday. I think it actually has three. And I eventually got lazy and stopped putting vocals down because they just repeated.

In any case, the piano should be right.

    http://www.uploading.com/files/HR48SRUT/The_Lion_and_the_Wolf.mus.html

  103. Mike

What do you open a .mus file with??

  104. Jason

these comments are amazing guys! Thanks for the Chords Logan

  105. kate

    lucci-

please post the transcriptions when you’re done, and thanks for putting them together :)

  106. lucci

    Jorge

lucci, I’m good, I thought you just needed someone to speak out on whether they wanted to see what you got so far or not, but yeah, ’sup to you if you want to post what you got now or the finished thing later.

yeah i did sorry if you misunderstood my “chill” response

  107. Trask

.mus is Finale Notepad. I think it’s free online somewhere. :)

  108. jessica

Thrice tomorrow in Houston! WOO HOO! I’m so excited. Hope I get to meet you guys. Good luck with the show. Hoepfully there won’t be any technical issues, riley! warehouse has a pretty good sound.
I know you want to hype the new cds (and who wouldn’t…those songs are ground-breaking) but could you play a mix of all your songs (ic, ios, taita, vheissu and of course alchemy index) maybe even first impressions. lol. they are all so good. i digress. lol. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS!
    Love.
    :)

  109. Denise

Holy crap, I love you, Trask.

  110. kate

    Agreed. Thank you Trask.

  111. Corey

Okay, I decided to split my AI into two discs, to give each a little more oomph:

    Disc One:
    Moving Mountains
    Daedalus
    A Song For Milly Michaelson
    Open Water
    Backdraft
    The Sky Is Falling
Night Diving (I liked this transition from TSIF to ND)
    Kings Upon The Main
    Broken Lungs
    Firebreather
    Digging My Own Grave

The emphasis on Disc One seems to start out slow, then pick up, with DMOG’s mood to act as a sort of epilogue. There’s definitely more “chill” songs than hard ones in TAI as a whole, so I tried to frame the more intense parts of the disc with a jam or even just a breather.

    Disc Two:
    Digital Sea
    The Messenger
    Come All You Weary
    The Earth Isn’t Humming
    Lost Continent
    Burn The Fleet
    The Flame Deluge
    The Lion And The Wolf
    The Arsonist
    As The Crow Flies
    Silver Wings
    The Whaler
    Child of Dust

I really like Digital Sea as an opener; I’ve always felt it was best served to open a mix, since it has such a great hook. I also really like the end of this disc: The Whaler’s four-part harmony perfectly complements the opening of Child of Dust. However, I feel like the middle area could use some improvement, mostly because I found it difficult to move on from Burn the Fleet or As the Crow Flies (which is why I kept the songs after them, well, right after them). Any improvements or ideas are more than welcome, though I think I found some neat segues in some of the songs; it would be a lot of fun to fade some of them together to make the transitions better.

  112. Weihsin

    Build-a-bear!

    Part 1- 3 groups :

    Firebreather
    Digital Sea
    Daedalus
    Digging My Own Grave

    The Messenger
    The Whaler
    A Song for Milly Michealson
    Come All You Weary

    Backdraft
    Lost Continent
    The Sky is Falling
    The Earth Isn’t Humming

    —-
First I thought about picking out my favorite songs from the whole TAI. The first that came out
was The Messenger, Digital Sea, Daedalus, Digging My Own Grave and A Song for Milly Michaelson.
There’s a lot of others songs I love, but these special ones are important to me.
Then I picked out some other songs from my Ipod’s playlist to find my Top 12. Then, I had the
idea of putting ‘em in order : i’ve made 3 groups of four songs, each organised like a “Mini-TAI”
(Fire-Water-Air-Earth order-like Thrice did it). Then in each group, I’ve put my favorite song of
each disc. So the first group is my top 4, then it’s the next four, and it goes again.Hmm, yeah,
also I was a little bit worried about which one should came in the first place (The Messenger or
Firebreather), but I’ve chosen Firebreather, because of Matt ;)

    Part 2-3 groups:

    Burn the Fleet
    Open Water
    Broken Lungs
    The Lion and the Wolf

    The Arsonist
    Night Diving
    As the Crow Flies
    Moving Mountains

    The Flame Deluge
    Kings Upon the Main
    Silver Wings
    Child of Dust

    —-
Well, I did basically the same thing for that part, except that I’ve chosen to put
all the four Sonnets in the same group, because they’re like meant to be together.
The last two lines of each have the same melody and they’re just great together. I also
thought during this Build-a-Bear process to put Broken Lungs, then Firebreather, in the same group
because I love how the end of Broken Lungs connects with the beginning of Firebreather,
but I wanted to keep my first idea. I think that’s it..for the moment.

Riley, I’ve done my homework. Can I get an A++?
Ok, I know I didn’t describe how the songs flow in & out of each other like Matt did, but I was a little bit lazy..
    Hahaha..eummmmm.
    Yeah, right.

  113. Katie

    weibsin,
i am currently working on my AI, and i totally put broken lungs before firebreather too! they almost end/start on the same note.. its perfect and the intense ending of broken lungs meshes almost perfectly with firebreather’s riffs.
    :-)

  114. matt

    Weihsin-
    don’t feel bad… i’m a music nerd/drummer. hahaha

  115. Weihsin

    Matt-

thanks, for telling me not to feel bad. I was like so sad,
thinking that I’ll never be as good as you ;)
    hahahhahhhhha
    Well I may be not a music nerd, but I’m a 3D geek/music listener.

  116. Chris

Daedalus going into Night Diving makes for a good segue.

  117. Tom

in case this happens to be one of the comments that gets scanned:
just got my preorder cds through (thanks amazon). utterly moved. i bought someone special vols 1&2 and now she’s gonna get 3&4 in the post too. she is on a christian course of discovery where i’m not allowed to make contact with her until July (since September). I’m not supposed to send letters either. But I will be eternally grateful to you, who through the alchemy index, have given me two of the most precious gifts i know she’ll ever receive. We are both totally in awe of what you do. And i know that i’ll be forgiven for breaking the rules with something so beautiful. thank you so much. you will never know how much you have helped me.

  118. Chris

Here’s my version of The Alchemy Index.
I was just playing around and it turns out that it made for a pretty good mix. Since there are many ways that we are all making our own; some are doing it by the lyrics, some by the themes, but I am taking the easier route and am focusing only on the segues between each of the songs. You can tell what I did I think, with the exception of one disc.

There will be 6 discs of 4 tracks each.

    Tracks 1
    1. Firebreather
    2. Digital Sea
    3. Broken Lungs
    4. Moving Mountains

    ***

    Tracks 2
    1. The Messenger
    2. Open Water
    3. The Sky Is Falling
    4. Digging My Own Grave

    ***

    Tracks 3
    1. Backdraft
    2. Lost Continent
    3. A Song For Milly Michaelson
    4. The Earth Isn’t Humming

    ***

    Tracks 4
    1. The Arsonist
    2. Daedalus
    3. Night Diving
    4. The Lion And The Wolf

    ***

    Tracks 5
    1. Burn The Fleet
    2. The Whaler
    3. As The Crow Flies
    4. Come All You Weary

I think Come All You Weary makes for a good album conclusion. As you can tell I did it by the tracks. Disc 1 is tracks 1, disc 2 is tracks 2, etc. With the exeption of Daedalus and Night Diving, because I think they go really well together in that order. If you listen to them, I think that they all end/begin really seamlessly. Plus, I think that ending it with an Earth song really contrasts to the distortion-heavy Fire, the techno-heavy Water, and the Electric-heavy of Air.

Plus, since I never considered the Sonnets as songs comparable to the rest of them, I put them on their own disc, because they, too, go really well together.

    Sonnets
    1. The Flame Deluge
    2. Kings Upon The Main
    3. Silver Wings
    4. Child Of Dust

  119. carlos

any word on the release of the come all you weary video

  120. matt

    Weihsin-
    you jerk… hahahahaha :)

  121. matt

my girlfriend keeps pointing out that i spelled “The Messenger” wrong, so i apologize.

it is in fact “The Messenger“, not “The Messanger“.

and now she’s hitting me for writing this. my bad.

    :)

  122. lucci

that daedalus tab may be done very soon

  123. danny

ah I heard you guys were resting it up here in El Paso!! I wish you guys would play here some time! Though I know you guys need your rest :)

  124. Preston

my perfect alchemy index cd would be the following…

    1. Broken Lungs
    2. The Arsonist
    3. Open Water
    4. The Lion And The Wolf
    5. Daedalus
    6. The Messenger
    7. The Whaler
    8. Digging My Own Grave
    9. Firebreather
    10. A Song For Milly Michealson
    11. Kings Upon The Main
    12. Silver Wings

  125. lucci

aight i finished the tab if anyone wants it, IM nahgapop or email jsl5028@psu.edu then tell me what you think

  126. lucci

*daedalus tab just in case you didnt read above

  127. Nick

i’ve been mucking around with the child of dust chords posted, Logans seems to be the closest (Am Am Am Am Em Em Em Em F F F F C C Bm Bm) at least for the first line. However I think the chord changes after the first 2 Em chords to another 2 slightly lower. I have no idea what to though, and I get caught up with the fact that it is not right and can’t move on :( (plus I get lost).
Trask, youve done an awesome joby on The Lion and The Wolf, sounds perfect. This may just reinvent my dabbleing in piano :)
    Thanks guys

  128. Logan

Nick, you’re absolutely right, my bad. in that case it should be:
    Am Am Am Am Em Em G G F F F F C C Bm Bm

  129. Logan

and, forgot to mention, those new G’s are actually G/D, which is why it sounds “lower.”

  130. Trask

Thanks, guys. I like transcribing things (yes, I am a music nerd), so chances are I’ll have Digging My Own Grave done sometime in the next couple weeks.

Nick - piano is awesome. You should pick it back up. :)

  131. Steven

so who thinks thrice shouldve waited a week and released air and earth on earth day…woulda been appropriate

  132. Nick

yeah piano IS awesome. I have a keyboard sitting right next to my desk in my room, and a guitar lying behind me, both of which I can hardly play (although I can read music alright). I just need the motivation to pick it back up = THRICE stuff :) all the motivation I need.
Logan, that sounds much better :) now we have to get through to the end :P
    I love this forum :)

  133. Dessira

Hey! I must say I absolutely LOVE the new CDs! My boyfriend bought me the Air and Earth set for our 2 year Anniversary. It was SO great to listen to together! Actually, I’m going to be painting a scene from one of the songs on the Air CD… it’s a surprise which one! But I’ll link you guys to a picture of it when it’s done! Thanks so MUCH for being such a prodigious band! Oooh and I LOVE Build-A-Bear! I go there with my mom all of the time… I even made a Pirate Kitty for work hehe…:D …I’m a dork I know… but I LOVE Thrice! Ooh and Dustin I love your solo album! I saw it in the store and just HAD to have it! And Teppei, you look adorable when you’re all scruffy!

  134. Joe

i think songs by thrice really deserves some visual response by it’s listeners… would be absolutely great to see paintings or other verbal/written representations of the songs (esp the sonnets!)
    keep it up dessira

  135. rivers

people really need to start posting set lists…and if people aren’t the band really should. please?

  136. Sage

I heard a live version of an unreleased Vheissu B-side and I really want it released. Please release all unreleased Vheissu B-sides. I will give you my left arm. Thank you kindly.

    Sage

  137. Brian Ward

Anybody else notice that the last song on each element has the same melody at the very end of each song? If you play the last few moments of The Flame Deluge, Kings Upon The Main, Silver Wings and Child Of Dust you will hear the same melody. Ties the whole project together quite nicely.

Sorry if this has already been repeatedly written about - I’m not about to go looking through the hundreds of posts here to double check.

  138. Joe

yup, its part of the english sonnet where the last stanza includes two ryhming lines, and i think it was fitting dustin used the same melody for the ending for all 4 sonnets. brilliant.

  139. Tom

Deliberate errors - my earth disc is correct (labelled iv) BUT in Silver wings lyrics - “of” is written “off”, any one else get this? All these errors must be deliberate. Yet another thing to make the record feel special to own - there are so many different versions.

  140. Matt

Yeah, my earth disk is labelled correctly, but I’ve got the Silver Wings typo.

Like I said before, the band needs a better proof-reader. There were errors in the lyrics in Vols. I & II as well.

  141. Tariq

I haven’t commented in forever, I feel like a traitor.

KIK AZZ SIT LAS NITE GUYZ!1!!!

  142. Aric

you know what, guys? you know what i need STAT?

    Alchemy Wallpapers. Stat!

  143. Ryan

a song for milly michaelson is so stunningly beautiful.

dustin, your use of simple language and the rather simplistic instrumentation really convey a childhood mentality and especially that of autism.

at first i was like, “dustin would never write something like this with his picky nature about songwriting,” but upon a few more listens it made so much sense.

thank you so much for not compromising in your musical endeavors.

i saw you on the first night in san diego, and i’ll be in LA for the last one!

  144. Logan

Ryan, me too! I was at the tour kickoff and I’ll be there at the tour finale. I thought that was a cool way to experience Thrice. I’m also seeing them two days before the finale, on the 28th. Seeing Thrice thrice in the same tour is just barely enough.

  145. Jason

    Disc One - The Leader
Kings Upon the Main - (The Leaders outlook on his throne)
Come All You Weary - (Presents false hopes for his soldiers)
Burn The Fleet - (Orders for the war)
The Lion and The Wolf - (The sheep in wolfs clothing)
    The Flame Deluge - (Finale)

    Disc Two - The Solider
A Song For Milly Michaelson (Solider with his lover)
Firebreather - (Solider hears the sirens of war, leaves all behind)
The Messenger - (Devotes himself to the cause)
The Arsonist (Betrays his city, his home)
Digital Sea - (Comes back empty handed, everyones gone)

    Disc Three - The Family
As the Crow Flies - (The Mothers hope for his son)
The Whaler - (Soldier’s wife singing about her husband)
Broken Lungs - (The Family smarts up to the Leader)
Daedalus - (Fathers disappointment with his son)
Child of Dust - (The burial of The Family)

Meh, this is just a work in progress

  146. matt

    jason-
i like the idea. thats really cool

  147. Stefan

    to Jason-

thats what Thrice should do for the next album…

    …A ROCK OPERA!

  148. Ken

I cannot stop listenning to A Song for Millie Michaelson.

It’s the best thing since that thing after sliced bread.

  149. Holly

ken, i second that! love that song…

  150. Chris

    This is to everyone.

I have never heard any song of Radiohead (except Creep). I know, blasphemy, huh? Well I really want to get into them, so my question to you is, what album of theirs should I listen to first?

  151. danny

I say thrice should do like a rock symphony with like 4 movements!

  152. Ben

    Chris–

I would listen to Radiohead’s newest album, “In Rainbows” for an introduction. Then I would go back and listen to “Ok Computer” and “Kid A”.

  153. Katie

    chris–

    i second what ben says.
in rainbows is sooooooooo beautiful. & kid a is definitely kickass.

i used to think radiohead was too weird.
then i grew up and got a better taste in music ;-)

  154. JM

ok computer is probly the best album to start with although i think my favoutie may be hail to the thief.

    WE SUCK YOUNG BLOOD!!

  155. kate

    ken-

“I cannot stop listenning to A Song for Millie Michaelson.
It’s the best thing since that thing after sliced bread.”

umm actually…i think the next best thing after bread might be chunky peanut butter, but that song definitely comes in with a close 3rd :)

    Chris-

I personally think the Kid A album would be a good place to start. My faves from that are Idioteque and How to Disappear Completely. and i don’t know about everyone else, i think The Bends is another awesome album, that could also be a good starter…and of course OK Computer. that one is just an essential radiohead album.

  156. JS

There are some GREAT videos up from the 4/21 show at The Wearhouse(?)

  157. Chris

    Hmm…

Well I thought there would be a more uniform answer to that.
But I just listened to In Rainbows, and yes, it was a little wierd.

I don’t mind the weird too much, but just not the first thing I listen to from that particular band.

For example, if I never heard Thrice before, and I listened to TAI, I would be like, WTF? Just for the record, when people ask me which Thrice album to listen to first, I say “The Artist In The Ambulance”. But I digress, which Radiohead album is the least weird? Because I think that Artist is the least “weird” of Thrice’s albums…

  158. kate

yeah thats really hard to do…radiohead has a vast library. um…try songs instead of albums then..might help. try karma police cause everyone likes karma police. haha and um…maybe Wolf at the Door? i love that song.

  159. Katie

how to disappear completely is one of my favorite radiohead songs. i dont think thats “weird”
its so pretty… and really sad too.

i’d say the least “weird” radiohead album is defintely pablo honey. its more straight alternative/rock. …but its now one of my least favorite albums hahah.. you might like it, chris.

  160. Melissa H.

JS - i watched the Moving Mountains video.. at first i was like “hey.. houston’s crowd’s alright..” until i heard the obnoxious “deadbolt!” screams… ugh.. so disappointing.. but seriously.. nothing against houston.. that happens in every city.. unfortunately.

as far as my own Alchemy Index.. i still haven’t finished it! so difficult..

  161. Melissa H.

oh man.. i should have kept watching.. the “Thrice pt 9″ video is amazing… for anyone interested.. Dustin says to the crowd “by the way.. we are aware of the fact that many of you would like us to play a song by the name of ‘deadbolt’.. we will play it for you.. but we do ask for your patience.” and then goes into The Earth Isn’t Humming.. go Thrice.. i honestly wouldn’t blame them if they never played it again..

  162. Preston

Just got back from the Dallas show.. frikkin AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

    Heres the setlist..

    The Lion and the Wolf
    Firebreather
    All That’s Left

    Open Water
    The Messenger
    STAND AND FEEL YOUR WORTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Cold Cash and Colder Hearts
    The Whaler
    Come All You Weary
    Artist in the Ambulance
    Daedalus
    Hoods On Peregrine
    For Miles

    Encore

    Deadbolt
    The Earth Will Shake

  163. Joe

    dood thats a sick setlist.
    i wish i had that :D

  164. Jess

if you are there BRONSON. i loved that. all those words sound familiar ya know? its love.

  165. Jess

they sound so sweet together without the whole track name. =]

  166. Johnny

You start with The Bends when getting into Radiohead (that’s the least weird album of theirs that doesn’t suck [anyone ever hear Pablo Honey? Exactly]).

  167. Jorge

FINALLY!!! I’ve heard Hold Fast Hope performed live, now to see it performed live IN PERSON lol

  168. Chris

OMG that was a sick setlist in dallas.

I have heard pretty much ever thrice song i would ever want to hear with the exception of The Whaler and Stand And Feel Your Worth.

Well, I also want to hear So Strange, but the wont play it like that again… but I can pray.

I hope I can still get a ticket to Hollywood.

  169. Trask

Stand and Feel Your Worth?!?!? AWESOME

  170. Donny

for some reason I don’t think they are gonna play the Sonnets.

  171. matt

    trask-
i’m hoping they play that at the last show… i effing love that song!!

  172. Craig

Has anyone heard Thrice play Like Moths to Flame live? I seriously hope they play that at the Clifton Park show.

  173. Mike

Donny- They’ve played Child Of Dust on this tour, and Silver Wings was done acoustic (and really well!) by Teppei and Dustin.

  174. JS

Craig- I hope they play it too but If the setlist from Dallas is anything like that at Clifton Park..WHOA!!

  175. princexero

Child of Dust and Silver Wings are AMAZING!!! instead, Kings upon… and Tha Flame… are non good as those songs..It’s only my opinion :)

  176. kate

i think all 4 sonnets are freakin’ awesome

  177. holly

    KINGS UPON THE MAIN…RULES!!

  178. Craig

I really hope they play Silhouette like in Dallas that would be amazing.

  179. Jorge

I’ve got a list of all the different songs they’ve played so far, and I’d post it up, but I don’t want to ruin anyone’s surprise, so if anyone wants to see it, let me know. If enough people ask I’ll probably just post it up.

  180. Hugo

Can someone describe to me how they play the Whaler?

    Does Riley sit it out?

I’d like to see the big song list (although part of me wants there to be more songs left unplayed), even though I’m not seeing them.

  181. Bronsen

    @ jess

well thanks there lady I was just excited that I got to hit up the setlist/show even!

but hey thanks for playing my little game haha

  182. chaseT

posting regularly? its almost been a week! haha

but i saw you guys last night in dallas. it truly was amazing. thank you for making music!

somone with MYYYY name posted a track list of deadbolt 24 times! thats so silly! and not too many people are actually making those lists. so ill make one! (by the way, i really wanted to talk to you last night, but i didnt get a chance to, and i had a lot of things to say :( so i hope there will be another dallas show in the future, no matter how long the wait!)

    hmm, lets see

    1. firebreather
    2. burn the fleet
    3. backdraft
    4. the arsonist
    5. the messenger
    6. the flame deluge
    7. night diving
    8. digital sea
    9. lost continent
    10. kings upon the main
    11. the whaler
    12. open water
    13. the lion and the wolf
    14. digging my own grave
    15. child of dust
    16. moving mountains
    17. the earth isnt humming
    18. come all you weary
    19. a song for milly michaelson
    20. as the crow flies
    21. the sky is falling
    22. daedalus
    23. broken lungs
    24. silver wings

this took a lot of thought, i swear! as you can see, i kept all the different elements together. i dont actually like this playlist very much, even though i technically havent heard it

but what i did try to do hear was to make the transitions between styles as SMOOTH as possible. and i think i have done it very nicely except for between broken lungs and silver wings. i just wanted to have silver wings last :D

  183. chaseT

wow a lot of people like the idea of play firebreather first and then broken lungs. crazy

someone on these comments had the awesome idea of splitting these songs into three parts, the leader, the soldier and the family. everyone should find that one!

  184. Katie

not to criticize your mix or anything, chase t, because it is YOUR take on the alchemy index..
but i feel like the most awesome thing now is that we can mix up all four elements and play the songs off of each other.

but to each his own :-D

this little project is proving to be more difficult than i imagined.. i have two running playlists that i cant freakin’ make a final decision about. haha

  185. Preston

    Hugo..

On the Whaler Riley plays the whole song and it is AWESOME!!!

I talked to him after the show and he told me that he made that beat up on drums and then made it an electronic beat. I was sooooo happy they played The Whaler and Stand and Feel Your Worth. 2 songs i was not expecting at all. But seriously the ending of the whaler live is just as pretty as the cd version cause all ed, tepps, and dustin all sing..

  186. Ricky

    Okay…my take on TAI:

    Vol. I: Fear
    1.Firebreather
    2.Digital Sea
    3.The Sky is Falling
    4.The Messenger
    5.Lost Continent
    6.Daedalus

    Vol. II: Courage
    1.Burn the Fleet
    2.Night Diving
    3.The Earth isn’t Humming
    4.The Lion and the Wolf
    5.Moving Mountains
    6.Backdraft

    Vol. III: Resistance
    1.Kings Upon the Main
    2.The Arsonist
    3.Silver Wings
    4.Digging My Own Grave
    5.The Flame Deluge
    6.Broken Lungs

    Vol. IV: Love
    1.Open Water
    2.A Song for Millie Michaelson
    3.The Whaler
    4.Come All You Weary
    5.As the Crow Flies
    6.Child of Dust

  187. Jorge

    @Huge
If you were referring to me when you said you wanted to see the big song list, give me your email or something and I’ll send it over.

  188. Jorge

    I meant Hugo, sorry!

  189. Katie

    huge.
    thats what she said.

  190. kate

    hahaha

    oh katie…..

  191. kate

so i’m making my TAI and seriously, i don’t know why, but digital sea is the hardest to place.

  192. Curtis

Show in Austin texas was phenomenal :) thanks for everything fellas

  193. Katie

thats odd.. the intro and outro for digital sea gives a lot of leeway to play around with other songs. at least i think it does.. i put it right after ‘the sky is falling’ on the better of my two AI playlists. it blends super well together.

and after digital sea, i have the flame deluge. the ending of digital sea and the entirety of the flame deluge has a rough/distorted/crackling effect that meshes well.

i probably have the hardest time with as the crow flies.
and it might be because it is my least favorite song of AI.
i mean i like it.. but not as much as everything else.

i wanted to have my AI done before i see them TOMORROWWWWW in nashville just in case i wanted to tell riley all about it, but i dont feel too confident in it just yet. :-(

BUT I AM SEEING THEM TOMORROW AND THATS ALL THAT REALLY MATTERS RIGHT NOW!!!!
    STOKED STOKED STOKED!

  194. Phil Smoke

Dude Ricky, that is badass. Rock on.

  195. Phil Smoke

I wasn’t going to make my own list, but I caved. So I included my favorite songs, and relied heavily on the lyrics for deciding the order.

First come songs dealing with life and loss and failing: Daedalus, then Kings Upon the Main, then Broken Lungs. These forces reach their nadir in our loss of even our humanity in Digital Sea.

Then comes the witness, the prophet - The Messenger. This brings both an invitation to rest in Come All You Weary, and a call to risk, commitment, and striving in Open Water and Burn the Fleet. This reveals a new identity in Backdraft. And traveling this Way leads to issues of peace, compassion, thankfulness, questions about the future, temptation, and deception in The Sky Is Falling, Silver Wings, The Earth Isn’t Humming, and The Lion and the Wolf. One must also reckon with hypocrisy and lies in The Arsonist. And at the end comes the freedom of pure commitment, even to the point of death, in Firebreather. And death brings rest in Child of Dust.

    Confession/plug: I’ve found myself writing about Thrice a lot - http://philsmokejunkdrawer.blogspot.com/search/label/Thrice

  196. Tom

jorges yes please piost all dem songs. wont ruin the surprise for those of us in engerland who don’t even have dates to look forward to let alone shows to reflect on!

  197. Tom

wow. awful typing. *jorge, *post, *won’t engerland was deliberate.

  198. Jorge

lol, I guess I’ll post it up if one more person asks, unless more people say they don’t mind as well, I know I probably wouldn’t want to know what the Thrice concert might consist of. I loved each concert for it’s surprise factor, now I’m loving it for it’s potential.

BTW, how does one go about actually meeting Thrice? I’ve only ever been to about 4 Thrice concerts, and those are actually the only concerts I’ve ever been to. So now I want to meet them, but I don’t really know how. Do I just stay and chill in the concert hall and they’ll eventually come out and meet the fans who stayed after or what? Does bribery in the form of paying for some late night meal work or something to that effect…?

  199. Katie

    jorge,
i dont know how it is with thrice because i’ve only seen them twice and it was FREEZING when i saw them in feb..
but usually you can find where they park the busses at the venue and after the show is over, just go out and hang out by the busses if possible. they’ll be out there at some point.

  200. Tom

Does it count if i ask again?

  201. Jeff

Jorge, I met them on Warped Tour, when they were doing the alliance fan club (a couple of times)…after a show around the busses sounds like a good plan, just hope for some good luck that day…=)

If you do get to meet them, they are some of the most amazing people i have ever met…they are all about asking questions about you (typically it is the other way around…)

    Really down to earth guys…=)

  202. Jorge

Thanks for the answers guys, I don’t know why, but I feel like I’m freakin’ out a little on exactly how possible it might just be to meet my favorite people of all time. Two more questions though:

    1. Does anyone know where the busses park at around the HOB in Orlando? And maybe even at Club Revolution (I think that’s what it’s called) in Ft. Lauderdale?

    2. Doesn’t it seem a little stalker-ish to wait for them around the bus? I don’t doubt that’s the best way, but it’s just me and that’s not weird right?

And Tom, alright since you’re so interested I’ll post it, I apologize in advance to anyone who didn’t want to see it, so I’ll list this as

  203. kate

    haha Jorge-

no it’s not weird to wait outside by the busses. well i mean it IS a little awkward for the person waiting, especially if you’ve never really done it before…but ppl do it all the time, and the band gets it all the time. its really become a normal thing actually…you know, play a show, then meet kids after the show. so yeah, i really hope you get to meet them!! i too went to a show in feb when it was like -40 degree weather so i passed on the bus meetings :( hope you have better luck than i did.

  204. Vince

    guys, i hate asking but…

    the national–may 3rd.

if you could play child of dust, digging my own grave, and firebreather well…

    i’d love you forever.

  205. israel

I am working on my TIA bear, but I also have final exams right now….as much as I would like to post it, I will have to wait a little bit. I will say that I am really enjoying some of the concepts behind some of the other list I am seeing…..Thrice fans are special….and I mean that in a good way :)

  206. Hugo

    cool.

    thanks.

    heh.

  207. Preston

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGFZm6K3inM

this is me and my friends making a spirit tunnel for Dustin when he finally came out after the show.

  208. matt

    hahaha thats awesome

im glad he’s cool enough to laugh about it. some guys probably would’ve been mad

  209. Chase

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luv1fvtj4bQ

Check out this song, and Imagine Thrice playing it, and Imagine it being on the Earth or Air CD……..

Its called I cheat the hangman by the Doobie Brothers…

  210. Melissa H.

Preston: that’s awesome. it’s cool you had so many people to do that with… and may i say.. look at that beard! they’re going to be all grizzly by the time i see them on the 14th..

  211. Denise

I got my CD on Monday from CD Plus and there’s nothing wrong with my copy. It says IV, there’s no error in any of the lyrics that I’ve seen, and I read through the whole book. Hm..

  212. Jimmy

Anyone else going to see em in Baltimore?

  213. Jorge

about how long after the show do the guys come out to the buses?

  214. Joe

i wouldve waited out all night if i had to and walk back 10 miles home IF i knew where the buses were.

but of course, upon reading this, they probably would never agree to meet me :P

  215. Joe

    OMG.

    LOST TONIGHT WAS BADASS

  216. Sage

Does anyone know where the heck I can get a poster of the four guys each holding a different element in their hands? The one that is their myspace profile picture. I want one like no other.

  217. Tom

thanks jorge. very useful record, keep it up!

must say that meeting them will be worth the weirness of hanging around the buses. I’ve only had the pleasure of encountering teppei from the few shows i’ve seen in the UK and he apologised so prefusely that he could find no setlist left on the stage anywhere to give me as a souvernir.

Quick point - If you do see them - in fact if ANY of you guys speak to them after their US shows will you ask them when they’re goin to announce their european dates and then come back here and tell me? thanks guys.

  218. Joe

    Sage - ebay.

  219. omair

    sage:

you can get it at the vagrant records online store for like 3 BUCKS!!!

also to the band: i love you & your show in dallas was great!… i love you.

  220. omair

    oh & sage:

since i saved you a bunch of cash, you can pay me the difference that youd get had you bought from ebay. :)

  221. Jorge

So I just heard some of the most terrible news. Supposedly access to the tour buses at the House of Blues in Orlando is restricted and fans aren’t allowed to go back there. Anyone know a way around this or if this is true?

  222. Trask

Man, I won’t be able to see them anyway because the drive home is about an hour for me and I can’t afford to get home too late. Sad sad.

Oh snap, I just realized this concert is the same day of my math AP. I guess the thought of Thrice in the evening will get me through the 4-hour test in the morning. :)

  223. Richard

are you planning on doing a canadian tour?

  224. Denise

If you guys ARE planning to come to Canada soon, don’t come in the winter. XD

  225. Weihsin

Yeah I agree with Denise!!! It’s so COOOOLD in the winter!
Last time you went, my feet were freezing while I was waiting outside..!

  226. Richard

oh annnnd also dont have it at reds. have it at shaw or rexall PLEASSSSE!!!!

  227. kate

i agree with Richard at not playing a show at the edmonton events center, but if i had to choose between there or rexall, i would choose the former because its smaller and semi more intimate…although everything about that place sucks. i could settle for shaw tho.

    COME BACK TO CANADA PLEASE!!!!!

  228. travis

can’t wait to see you guys in 5 days here in st. pete! it’s going to be awesome

  229. Trems

    229th!!!

  230. Sage

Thanks everyone who told me where to get the poster. You know what is lame? Shipping costs more than two posters. Lame.

  231. Alvaro

I bought the record yesterday, because it came late in Spain. I have waited a long time without hearing anything. And it is truly amazing, no words.
by the time I just listened the air disc and WOW! brilliant.

no doubt, THRICE its my favorite band, and one of the best bands I’ve heard.

    Thankyou guys so much.

  232. Katie

    ummmmm
i’ll post about this more later because i am about to die from exhaustionnnnn

BUT LAST NIGHT AT NASHVILLE WAS AWESOME!
AND DUSTIN TOLD ME THAT THEY SAW THE SONGS I REQUESTED ON THEIR MYSPACE, AND THEY PLAYED THEM ALL.

    i have a set list.
THEY PLAYED FLAGS OF DAWN BECAUSE I ASKED FOR IT.
    WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!?!!?
i love them i love them i love them.

    lolz brb
    i am so tired.

  233. Jorge

oh god, I hope they play Hold Fast Hope in Orlando because I asked for it, not on their myspace, but on this blog, and a few times to boot. I also hope I didn’t annoy them in the process of asking for it a couple of times!

  234. Hugo

    the songs Katie requested:

    requests?
moving mountains, trust, flags of dawn & hold fast hope. ”

    cool.
Wonder how they have the patience to go through their myspace.
Hope they’re treating this site similarly (nay, better!).

Even though you (Katie) didn’t ask for anything “out there” besides Flags, it’s really great to know they care. It’s pretty unique.

If you guys ever happened to come out here, I’d drive myself nuts regarding requests. But you are now playing pretty much 85% (85.673424% give or take a billionth [/sarcasm]) of the songs I’d want most to hear, which kills me.

  235. Logan

well all right! just in case I luck out like katie, on the last night of your tour could you play Stand+feel, flags of dawn, music box, and/or moths to flame?

… and maybe the melting point of wax? :)?

  236. Logan

by the way, anyone notice how Dustin forgets a lot of words to the songs at live shows? haha. it’s less of a bad thing though, and more of a funny running gag. definitely doesn’t decrease how much they rock live.

  237. Ian

i apologize if this has already been discussed but, take a look at your earth cd i noticed yesterday that instead of a iv for volume four my cd has a v for five. anyone else have that same problem? let me know. you can post on here or email me at ianlovestheoffice@yahoo.com

  238. Katie

the trick is you gotta know the songs in their pool of songs..
they are NOT going to play anything outside of that pool…

so i made sure to request my favorite songs out of the ones that aren’t being played every night.

for example, artist, CAYW, deadbolt and digital sea are being played every night. for miles is not being played every night.

dustin was like, did you read up on the other set lists? and i was like yeah, sorry… he was like “no, that’s cool. i was like, ’someone did their homework.’”

haha so dustin likes it when people do their homework!

oh, and i asked him about the fall tour.. they dont know who they are taking out just yet..
but it probably WONT be dillinger and poison the well. hahahah can’t blame a girl for trying. :-P

    oh yeah!
they started to play ‘child of dust’ and dustin started singing it, but started with ‘…child of dust…’ and everyone was just like uhhhhh? hahah it was really really funny.

i’ll post the set list soon!

  239. Katie

    oh and another tidbit..
i kind of heckled dustin about them not playing ‘the sky is falling’ on this tour and he said that he is the only one that wants to play it… isn’t that weird?! i thought that it would be the BEST song live, especially off of the air disc.

now i have to wait roughly 20ish days for chicago. hahaha
    crap.

  240. kate

    KATIE!

omg that just blew my mind! so awesome that they played your songs. i’m happy for you :) i’m so glad that they pay attention to requests from really dedicated fans…

if anyone else gets to talk to the guys, can you plz maybe ask about the possibilites of another canadian tour? or visiting some of the canadian cities…maybe EDMONTON perhaps??? once this year wasn’t enough. that would be greatly appreciated :D

  241. Danny

im going to what used to be the last show, the 29th. you should play so strange i remember you. the original. i’ve seen the revamped one live, though it is good. i wanna hear the original.

  242. Chris

    screw the original!

    we want the epic version!

    haha, sorry danny

  243. Jorge

I’m with you Danny, the newer version is nice, but the original is where it’s at! And thank you for reminding me that they’re having another tour in the fall, something to look forward to and a good question to ask them when I meet them!

  244. Vince

Hey guys, again…I’ll be at the National in Richmond on the 3rd of May.

    So…

    Child of Dust
    For Miles
    Digging My Own Grave
    A Song for Milly Michealson
    Firebreather
    Burn the Fleet
    Daedalus

    ?

I would love you guys forever and ever, again, if you play those.
    And seriously,
if you played Daedalus and Melting Point of Wax back to back–
    that would be intense.

And then if I could meet you guys.
    Well that’d be fantastic too.

    Oh yeah.

  245. Vince

Oh, and how about A Torch to End All Torches?

    Just sayin ;)

  246. Trask

    Dear Thrice,

Remember how I said it would be indescribably amazing if you played “For Miles” at the Hartford show on May 7?
    Just checking.
Stay awesome! I love you all!

    Your friend,
    Trask

  247. Joe Harman

Have they played A song for mill michaelson at all on this tour? Anyone know? If I heard that live, I could die happy. That and just about every other thrice song i havent heard live.

  248. Katie

no milly, so i highly doubt it’ll be played at all.
neither has digging my own grave.

not trying to burst anyone’s bubbles, but they just won’t be playing anything that they haven’t already played at this point!

hopefully on the fall tour ‘the sky is falling,’ milly & some of the others will make the cut.

oh! here’s the setlist from the nashville show!

    moving mountains
    hold fast hope
    all that’s left
digital sea (it says digital sea horse on the setlist hahahaha)
    trust
    the earth isn’t humming
    burn the fleet
    the messenger

    daedalus
    stare at the sun
    the whaler
    cold hearts and colder cash

    flags of dawn
    artist in the ambulance
    broken lungs
    silhouette

    child of dust
    for miles
    deadbolt

    encore:
    come all you weary
    the earth will shake

    HIGHLIGHTS:
them going from moving mountains into hold fast hope WAS AWESOME AS HELL. omg, i nearly peed my pants. i had requested BOTH of those so it was GNARLY.

i love broken lungs SO MUCH more after seeing it live. it is so powerful.

as is the earth isn’t humming. they had their roadies come out on stage and
bang on some extra drums. it was so loud and moving.

    yadda yadda
    is it may 16-17 yet?
    oy vey.

  249. Katie

    oh yeah!
and thanks kate!!!! i was so excited when dustin told me that. i even shook his hand again, thanking him. hahaha he probably thought i was the biggest goon in the world.

  250. Melissa H.

no the sky is falling? aww.. i guess i can stop practicing my hand clapping.. i wasn’t doing very well anyways.. ha. my tickets arrived in the mail today.. i had ordered them from ducat king.. and they said it wouldn’t ship until about 2 weeks prior to the show.. so when i saw them it was a very pleasant reminder that it’s soon! also.. i’ve seen Circa live before.. they’re amazing.. one of my favs.. i can’t wait for them either.

  251. israel

Congratulations katie!! on meeting one of the most influential humans alive! the fact that they pay such close attention to their fans is just one more reason they are the best band/people…hands down.

  252. Parke

your nashville show was mindblowing. i saw ed hanging outside before the show but he went inside before i could talk to him. i really wanted to meet you guys and tell you in person how i much i appreciate non-mediocre showmanship and songwriting. you guys influence my life in a positive way. love you guys.

  253. Albert

just saw Thrice and i got to say, it was sick! I recorded some stuff that ill put on the tube.

  254. Nick

I really want you guys to come to Australia, because these people seem to be saying you are fantastic live, and I kinda want to prove them wrong and say you are the best band ever. ‘Cause I know it is true. So yeah, please please please come to Sydney Australia. It’d be awesome.
    Cya when you get here.

  255. Ben

So, how does one get to talk to the guys anyway? I’m sure they’re great about signing stuff and chatting, but I just don’t know of any opportunities to do that.

  256. Hugo

Albert, may I ask what you got?

Ben: I’d like to know that too lol, never really made it an issue to actually meet the band at a concert.

  257. Jamie

Hey euro Thrice fans Thrice 100% confirmed for Reading/Leeds festival UK

which I happen to have a ticket for ;-) (its sold out don’t bother)

my two favorite bands Thrice and Rage :D YAY!

  258. Jorge

Gonna see them in like, less than 12 hours, so hyped! And they’re doing a signing before the concert, so if I can’t see them after the show, at least I can get them to autograph their respective element cds. I hope HOB isn’t too strict on allowing fans to enter the tour bus area, would be totally awesome to meet up with them after the show!

  259. Albert

    -Hugo & Ben

Thrice (as a whole) were really chill. i mean after playing a crazy set i expected them to be half awake, but they were really down to earth and chill. i was kinda surprised that i didnt get anything, but i did catch Riley’s stick and got them to sign it w/ my Vheissu special edition disk. but they said that they are considering making a live dvd hopefully at the end of this tour. As for their playlist…i’ll put it up soon, btw for anyone who didn’t know this was their ATL show at The Masq.

  260. Chris

    albert

that makes me feel all good inside…

  261. kate

mmmmmmmm live DVD. I have butterflies.

  262. Ian

thrice today ahhh i’m so excited, i truly hope they do a signing beforehand even though i got to meet them back in 05 it would still be amazing. if they play all thats left i’m gonna flip!

  263. luke

    thrice for reading?

if thats true then yaaaaay…thats going to be amazing. hopefully they will do a few low key shows around before or after reading, that would be proper good.

and a live DVD? could this day get any better?

  264. Johnny

“For Miles” in Philadelphia on the 9th would be lovely, gents.

I’m excited. Right as my semester ends!! =]

  265. Tom

jamie - where did you see that??!! i bought my reading weekend ticket in the hope they would play! which stage are they on?

i dont need to come and stay at yours for their two hour sets in birmingham now :o)

  266. Mitch

Just saw you guys last night in Atlanta. It was an amazing show, thanks for being so awesome. It could be seen by the way that you play that you guys really love what you are doing and love your fans. Thanks for coming back out and playing “Stare at the Sun” and “Deadbolt.”

  267. Albert

    -Mitch

    that show was sick!!!
and i was surprised w/ circa and pelican they were pretty good…esp. that violin thing on his guitar! pulled a jimmy page! lol

  268. Mason

is there no computer on tour?

  269. Katie

they are off tomorrow so hopefully a post then!

  270. johnson

i really wanna hear lost continent.

  271. SeanLang

“oh, and i asked him about the fall tour.. they dont know who they are taking out just yet..
but it probably WONT be dillinger and poison the well.”

    Bummer.

  272. Katie

    @ sean:

yeah i know! he kind of chuckled and then said ‘well that probably wont happen’

why would he laugh at that?
that would be the most amaaaazing show ever, for me at least. three of my favorites.

i did read that ptw will be working on their new record this fall so maybe that’s part of the reason dustin said that? i dunno.

  273. Jorge

But are they also going to headline their fall tour? Because two headlining Thrice tours in one year would be epic.

Oh and I just got back from the Orlando show, I’ll post what I remember from the set list up tomorrow if I remember, totally exhausted, but they were as amazing as ever. Thank you so much guys for playing Hold Fast Hope, and RIGHT AFTER Daedalus to boot! That was the highlight of the concert for me, but everything else was just as awesome. Pelican was tight, Circa, not so much, just can’t get used to the vocals, but I did get to hold the lead singers hand for a while when he dove into the crowd. I tried to get him to high five me but he never did lol

  274. Mitch

    Albert-

Yeah the other bands were pretty tight. I liked Pelican a lot; actually went home and listened to a bunch of their stuff on myspace.

Thanks again, Thrice, for introducing me to another awesome band.

    Favorite part of the concert:
I’m a pretty tall guy (6′4ish). Right before Deadbolt, this small kid asked if I could throw him up to crowd surf when the song started. I told him yes and to move more towards the center. When the song started, however, everyone started moshing (my gf and I were caught between two big mosh pits) and the kid, being small, got drowned and immediately dragged away in the crowd. I felt kind of bad, but it was really funny too.

  275. Jamie

They are on the lockupstage saturday 3rd from top im pretty sure.
They will get a 40-45 minute set. :-)

It will be announced along with all the other bands on the lockup around mid day on www.punktastic.com

    Jamie

  276. Albert

    -Mitch

thats funny! me and my friend were trying to ge
